The Story
Ben Cottrill is a Vancouver-based soul-roots artist whose songs and stage presence have helped define one of Canada’s biggest breakout touring acts, and now he’s stepping forward with a live show of his own. Ben’s solo performances blend Americana soul, piano-driven storytelling, and gritty West Coast energy — the same elements that have made him indispensable on theatre stages night after night. With a voice that carries lived-in weight and arrangements built for real rooms, Cottrill connects equally in intimate clubs and packed theatres.
Best known as a core collaborator and touring band member for Atlantic Records artist Cameron Whitcomb, Cottrill has spent the last two years on the road as keys, guitar, and vocal sideman, serving as Musical Director and built-in opening act across three national headline runs: The Quitter Tour, Hundred Mile High Tour, and The I’ve Got Options Tour.
Ben co-wrote Whitcomb’s breakout single “Quitter,” which reached Top-10 in five Canadian radio formats (Top-40, Country, Modern Rock, Hot AC, AC), and achieving 200+ million streams globally. He also earned two 2025 CCMA nominations: Songwriter of the Year (for “Quitter”) and Keyboard Player of the Year.
Outside the Whitcomb camp, he’s become a sought-after creative voice among a new wave of international artists — including Benjamin Steer, Jonas Conner, Tayler Holder and JIMI, further sharpening the sound that defines his own material.
Ben Cottrill will be opening for Grammy Nominated duo The War And Treaty on their 2026 Canadian tour across British Columbia and Ontario.
